Collection Instructions:

Allow to clot for 30 minutes and centrifuge promptly.

Aliquot (pour over) into screw top plastic transport tube and store at room temperature.

COLLECTION NOTE: Minimum volume listed is in serum or plasma, draw approximately 2 1/2 times the requested volume in whole blood.

Methodology

Solid phase immunoassay with alpha-galactose-1-3-galactose as the bound antigen. Calibrated against total IgE standards from WHO Reference 75/502 to generate results in kilounits of IgE. This test has not been cleared or approved for diagnostic use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
