Do not send collection container with patient for home collection. Recommend patients be collected at a Hospital Laboratory or 35 Michigan Outpatient Laboratory.

Outpatient/Off-Site collection - please order a STAT courier for pickup. Specimen should be less than 2 hours old when received in the laboratory.

If specimen cannot be submitted to the laboratory within 2 hours, an unstained (clipped corner slide) urine cytospin prep may be submitted for urine eosinophils.

  • Urine specimens >2 hours old
  • Urine specimens with preservatives
