Specimen Requirements

Submit only ONE of the following specimens:


Specimen Type: Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue (FFPE)

Collection Instructions: The area of interest for testing should be marked on the paraffin embedded tissue block or an accompanying slide.  If applicable, the ATL Surgical Specimen form completed by the Pathologist should be submitted with the paraffin embedded tissue.

 

 

Specimen Type: Fresh tissue

Collection Instructions: Fresh biopsy tissue must be flash frozen immediately after collection.  The tissue must be transported on dry ice, and should be received and processed within 24 hours of collection.  The ATL Surgical Specimen form completed by the Pathologist should be submitted with the frozen tissue.

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)
Volume: 3 mL
Minimum volume: 0.5 mL
Collection Instructions: Store at room temperature or refrigerated. For optimal results, the specimen should be received in the laboratory within 48 hours of collection.

Minimum volume: 0.5 mL
