Clinical Information

Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency is an autosomal recessive immunodeficiency disorder characterized by leukocyte dysfunction which results in recurrent infections.  The laboratory test for LAD involves the flow cytometric measurement of CD18, CD11b, and CD15 on neutrophils.  LAD Type 1 is characterized by absent or reduced expression of CD11b and CD18 on neutrophils.  LAD Type 2 is less common and exhibits absent or decreased expression of CD15 on neutrophils. Type 3 LAD is not evaluated by this assay.

Collection Instructions

Collect only Monday through Friday.
