Collection Instructions:

  • Gently invert gold tube(s) 8 - 10 times to mix clot activator with blood.
  • Specimen should be processed within 2 hours – See Processing Instructions.

interpretive Comment: (effective 3/17/2024)

Serial determinations are more relevant than single tests. 
A two-fold increase between acute and convalescent specimens is considered significant and may indicate recent infection
