Clinical Information
The evaluation of coagulation factor V is indicated for the diangosis of congenital or acquired Factor V deficient states. Acquired deficiencies are noted in cases of liver dysfunction, consumption coagulopathy, factor V inhibitors, and myeloproliferative disorders. Also indicated for the evaluation of a prolonged prothrombin time or activated partial thromboplastin time.

Factor V activity is useful for diagnosing congenital or acquired factor V deficiencies. Factor V activity is not indicated for hyper coagulation evaluation. For hypercoagulation panels please order Factor V Leiden DNA analysis.

Processing Instructions:
- Centrifuge and remove plasma within 1 hour of collection.

- Separate plasma into 2-3 aliquots, minimum of 0.5 mL each.
- Freeze aliquots in plastic transport tubes immediately.
