Test Name Alias

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) Real Time PCR DNA Quant, EBV PCR, EBV DNA Quant | SH EBV Quant (Epic name) | 704

Interface Order Alias

11713

Clinical Information

This assay has been calibrated to the 1st WHO International Standard for Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), NIBSC code 09/260 and results are reported in International Units per milliliter (IU/mL).  The lower quantitative sensitivity was validated to 150 IU/mL.  To facilitate longitudinal tracking, if no viral DNA is detected, the result is reported as 0 (zero).  Low positive results, below 150 IU/mL, will be reported, but should be interpreted with caution.  Viral loads greater than the upper limit of the assay are reported as >3.0 million IU/mL.
