Epic Code LAB7580 Factor X Activity

Important Note

Therapeutic doses of hirudin or other direct thrombin inhibitors lead to erroneous lower factor activity. To evaluate low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) anti-xa please order LMWH. To evaluate unfractionated heparin please order Unfractionated Heparin Level.

This test is for factor X activity, not to be confused with anti-xa inhibitor therapy.

There is currently a nationwide shortage of this tube. Please take steps to ensure specimen integrity to reduce recollection. Specimen Tube Shortage (link)
