Collection Instructions

Specimen collection: Whole blood (Heparinized)
Container(s): Capillary tube (Capillary Gasses Tube)

Minimum volume: 140 uL (Pennock Lab: 100 uL)

 

Collection Instructions:

  • Capillary tube sealed on both ends with capillary caps and no bubbles in samples. 
  • Specimen must be hand delivered to proper location within 15-30 minutes of collection. Specimen may be rejected if not processed within 30 minutes.
    • Grand Rapids: Hand Deliver ALL Capillary specimens to HDVCH - 8th floor Respiratory Satellite Lab, Room 89203. Please call first 616-352-6027
    • Regional Hospitals: Hand deliver to the Laboratory or Respiratory immediately.
